Jomanda was a house music group that formed in 1986. They were Cheri Williams, Renee Washington and the late Joanne Thomas, and they hailed from New Jersey. Their first single, On Top (Of The Groove), was produced by Cassio Ware, Derek “A” Jenkins and Dwayne “Spen” Richardson (Basement Boys). It was mixed by Blaze.

Jomanda was one of the first house music groups to be picked up by a major label (Atlantic) in 1990. Got A Love For You was the first release and it sent them to fame. This time the popular mix was by Steve “Silk” Hurley from Chicago. It was number one on Billboard’s Hot Club Play Chart and even reached number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
