Chris Herbert, Josh Milan and Kevin Hedge. The original Blaze. Hailing from New Jersey, Blaze debuted around 1985 on Ace Beat Records. 5 years later in 1990 it was unheard of for a house group, but they got signed to Motown Records with the LP/CD 25 Years Later. It was executive produced by themselves and Timmy Regisford (Motown A&R). They went all out on this LP/CD. They had many excellent singers backing them including Sybil, Keisha Jenkins, Roshelle Fleming, Michael Cooper, Phase II and Jocelyn Brown. I chose Get Up as that is my favorite house cut from the album, with the intro inspired by the JBs’ I Am Somebody.

Chris Herbert left the group in the early 90′s but Josh and Kevin are still going strong working with the likes of Louie Vega. They both have also launched DJ careers as well.
